CSWEP Board Member - Andrea H. Beller


Andrea H. Beller is Professor of Family Economics in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also holds an appointment in Womens Studies and is an Affiliate of the Institute of Government and Public Affairs. In 1994, she was the first recipient of the Family Economics and Resource Management Research Award. Her current research interests include child support payments, the impact of living in a single-parent family on children's educational attainment, and gender and racial differentials in the labor market. She is co-author (with John W. Graham) of Small Change: The Economics of Child Support, Yale University Press, 1993. The book was a runner up for the 1994 American Sociological Association Family Section William J. Goode Book Award, and was reprinted in 1996 in paperback edition. She is co-Principal Investigator on a Partnership Illinois grant to work with the Illinois Division of Child Support Enforcement on Implementation and Evaluation of the Child Support Enforcement Provisions of Welfare Reform. She is also a member of the National Advisory Board of the Wisconsin Works Child Support Demonstration and of the Child Support Advisory Committee of the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Family and Economic Issues and the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance and has served as a reviewer for more than 25 journals.
