Graduate Student Sessions at the
Southern Economic Association Meetings
November 18-20, 2005 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington D.C.
The Southern Economic Association recognizes the importance for young scholars of establishing a habit of attending professional meetings with the idea of placing their work before an audience of professionals in their field.
Each southern University with a Ph.D. program in Economics is invited to nominate one advanced graduate student, preferably a student who will be on the job market, to participate in one of the sessions designed for graduate students. The graduate students selected will receive a $100 cash award, membership in the Southern Economic Association for one year at no cost, and the registration fee for attending the conference will be waived.
Please send (via e-mail)
to Dr. Art Goldsmith at GoldsmithA@wlu.edu the name and e-mail
address of the graduate student selected to represent your department by
September 15, 2005. In addition, please have the graduate student
selected provide Dr. Goldsmith with an MS Word file containing an abstract, of
less than 200 words, of the paper he or she plans to present.
